Ok- this is a strong claim! But I think I have discovered the best chocolate brownie recipe. These are so delicious that you’ve got to try them. Even my in-laws, who aren’t big chocolate fans, love these! So if you are a chocoholic- like me– then these are a must! Plus they’re really easy to make!
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 30 minutes
What You’ll Need
- 200 grams unsalted butter
- 200 grams dark chocolate (I used finely chopped Bournville)
- 90 grams white chocolate (I used finely chopped MilkyBar white chocolate)
- 90 grams milk chocolate (I used finely chopped Dairy Milk)
- 175 grams dark soft brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 75 grams plain flour
- 30 grams cocoa powder
- Salt
Step One: Preheat Oven
Before you get started make sure to preheat your oven to 180 degrees (160 fan).
Step Two: Prepare Cooking Tin
I used a glass 20cm square dish and greased it with a small amount of olive oil. I prefer not to line mine with parchment as I leave my brownies in the glass dish. It is possible to line the dish with parchment paper- be sure to leave an overhang to allow you to lift the brownies out once baked.
Step Three: Get Melting
Now it’s time to melt the butter and the finely chopped dark chocolate. I placed mine in a glass bowl and into the microwave. Set your microwave to 30 seconds and then stir. Repeat this until the butter and dark chocolate has completed melted.
Step Four: Mix All Ingredients
Initially add in to the melted butter and dark chocolate your sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix well until silky smooth.
Then add in the flour, cocoa, a pinch of salt and the remaining finely chopped white and milk chocolate.
Step Five: Bake
Pour your mixture into the pre-prepared dish and bake in the centre of your oven.
I baked mine for 30 minutes for a soft middle. Aim for 26 minutes for a really gooey consistency.
Step Six: Cool
Leave the brownies to cool for at least 10 minutes. In my opinion these get better by the next day, so even make a day in advance.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
