Stuck inside on a cold, snowy day? Or just feeling creative, a little bored and needing some inspiration? I’ve compiled the perfect list of 15 indoor snow day activities- to keep you and your kids entertained!

1. Create Your Own Gingerbread House

I see so many gingerbread sets in the supermarket during the Christmas holidays. So why not have a go at creating it from scratch? The smell of freshly baked gingerbread is pretty enticing, even for novice bakers.

2. Make Marshmallow Snowmen

These are so cute! I think it should become mandatory that these are added to every hot chocolate from now on.

3. Indoor Scavenger Hunt

Turn yourselves into your own house detective and create clues that your kids (or big kids) will enjoy hunting down. This provides fantastic, fun entertainment that everyone will enjoy!

4. Create a DIY Snowy Mason Jar

These look so pretty once complete. They create a really cosy atmosphere in the evening when you illuminate with a tea light.

5. Pine Cone Crafts

What I love about crafting with natural materials, like pine cones, is how you can stick on your welly boots and go foraging for them beforehand. It will make your walk more purposeful and entertaining! Plus you create some cute keepsakes.

6. DIY Christmas Wreath

This came out so well! Honestly I was amazed! It was a fraction of the price and so satisfying to enjoy my own DIY skills. Coming home and seeing this on your front door will make you feel so festive and wow your guests.

7. Macrame Santa Ornament

Don’t be put off by how fiddly this looks to make. Once you get started it’s actually really straightforward and doesn’t take much time. At the end you’re left with a very cute DIY ornament for your home.

8. Create Christmas Crackers for Christmas Day

Want to add a personal touch to your Christmas dining table? Why not create your own Christmas crackers for your guests to enjoy. Add personalised gifts for each guest and custom jokes! Everyone will love them!

9. Make Reindeer Noses Chocolate Truffles

I remember way over-indulging on chocolate truffles one Christmas at my grandparents house. And ever since truffles have felt like the perfect festive sweet treat. Not only do they taste amazing but they look cute, thanks to this recipe.

10. Create Custom Wrapping Paper Using Potato Stamps

This is another way to add customisation without breaking the bank. My family have always decorated my presents so beautifully that I love keeping a section of wrapping paper each birthday/Christmas. Now there’s even more incentive when you know someone has put in the effort to create it for you.

11. Make Handmade Air Dry Clay Christmas Ornaments

These are so simple to make and look really effective. Add names or dates to create custom presents or create the perfect keep-sake tree decorations.

12. Watch a Festive Movie

This is one of my personal favourite indoor snow day activities. Snuggle up with a hot chocolate and a blanket and watch a Christmas movie. In fact- create the chocolate truffles and marshmallow snowmen first! Now that sounds like bliss.

13. Create a Shoebox for Operation Christmas Child (OCC)

I like to remember that there are people far less fortunate than myself in the world, especially at Christmas. When I was at school, we were asked to create a shoebox for OCC, and it’s something I want to continue as an adult. The idea is that you fill your shoebox with toys, personal care items, school supplies, and fun gifts which is sent to children in poverty across the world. Boxes are collected during a week in November- so check the website for dates.

14. Wine Cork Reindeer

Somehow this feels like the perfect activity for adults and children. The adults play an important part in sourcing (and enjoying) the wine corks. The children can enjoy the wine cork crafting! Everyone is happy.

15. DIY Spa Day

After all that crafting, baking and at-home festivities you’re going to need a rest! Why not kick-back relax and just enjoy an at-home spa day?

FINAL THOUGHTS..

Writing this has really got my thinking hat on as to how I want to spend the next few weekends on the lead up to Christmas. (Much to my husbands joy I am just about to do an order at Hobbycraft)! I hope this post has also got you feeling inspired- should you find yourself with a day at home over the Christmas holidays or looking for snow day activities. I’ve got a few more Christmas craft posts to come- so stay tuned for more Blogmas posts. But for now- happy day 6 of Blogmas and see you tomorrow!
